Nigerian gospel artist Mercy Chinwo has taken a bold step in addressing a legal battle with her former label boss, Ezekiel ThankGod, better known as Eezee Concept. The award-winning singer has released an official statement via her lawyers, shedding light on the ongoing lawsuit against the music producer.

In a detailed press release shared on her Instagram, Chinwo recounted her journey with Eezee Concept, from her early days as a background singer to becoming a client under his management. She revealed that she signed her first contract with Eezee Concept in 2017, though she later discovered the dates had been altered to 2019.

Chinwo explained that after being offered a 12-year extension to her initial five-year contract, she declined, citing other future plans. However, as time passed, their professional relationship reportedly turned toxic. The gospel star claims she was subjected to verbal and emotional abuse, with Eezee Concept allegedly threatening her career. According to Chinwo, he made statements such as, “I will deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you who you are. I can shut you up, and nobody will hear you again, and I will destroy your career.”

Additionally, Chinwo alleged that Eezee Concept misrepresented her availability to event organizers. Despite the tense situation, the artist clarified that the lawsuit is not about reclaiming her music catalog but rather about obtaining the first three pages and execution page of the 2017 contract, which she believes was altered.

Chinwo’s public statement marks a significant moment in her fight for transparency and fairness in the music industry.
