In a move aimed at strengthening collaboration and fostering national cohesion, the Global Ethnics Movement (GEM) has paid a courtesy visit to the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Executive, Oriade Chapter, ahead of the much-anticipated Unity Summit scheduled to hold on Thursday, November 27th, 2025, at the Oriade LCDA Hall.
The visit, which took place yesterday, 22nd October, brought together key representatives of both organizations in a cordial atmosphere filled with dialogue, cultural exchange, and a shared commitment to promoting unity among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups.
Leading the delegation, Ms. Amaka Udeani, President of the Global Ethnics Movement, underscored the need for inclusivity, inter-ethnic dialogue, and active grassroots engagement as tools to bridge social and cultural divides across the nation.

She was accompanied by other notable GEM executives, including Mr. Godwin Ameh (Vice Chairman), Comrade Benedict Stephen (General Secretary), Mr. Gbenga Ayoade (Financial Secretary/Spokesman), Mr. Obiora Okonkwo (Coordinator, Amuwo Odofin), and Mrs. Adetunji Omotola (Coordinator, Oriade Chapter).
“Our mission is to create platforms where all ethnic groups can come together, celebrate their diversity, and work collectively for peace, development, and national progress,” Ms. Udeani stated. “Engaging with community leaders like the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and other ethnic nationalities is a vital step toward realizing this vision.”
In his response, the Chairman of the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Oriade Chapter, Chief Victor Nnotum, commended GEM for its proactive efforts toward promoting peace and social harmony. He emphasized that collaboration with organizations such as GEM is essential in building an equitable and united Nigeria.
“We are delighted to welcome GEM to our chapter,” Chief Nnotum said. “This visit symbolizes the kind of collaboration Nigeria needs right now — one built on understanding, cultural exchange, and the pursuit of collective progress.”
Chief Nnotum also extended appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Oriade LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede, for his continued support of initiatives that promote inclusivity and unity, describing him as “a leader with the interest of everyone at heart.”
Adding his voice, Chief Chidi Ogbuefi, Vice Chairman of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Oriade Chapter and an active member of the Global Ethnics Movement, praised the GEM leadership for driving grassroots unity.
“At a time when tribal differences seem to divide us, bringing a platform that unites Nigerians at the grassroots level is truly commendable — especially when it is being championed by the youth,” Chief Chidi Ogbuefi noted.
Other members of the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo executive present — including the Youth Leader, Women Leader, Secretary, and other esteemed Excos — also pledged their support for GEM’s mission, expressing readiness to collaborate on initiatives that promote peace and togetherness.
The meeting concluded on a high note, with both organizations expressing optimism that the upcoming Unity Summit would provide a valuable platform for meaningful dialogue, policy advocacy, and sustainable partnerships dedicated to advancing peace, mutual understanding, and national integration.
The Unity Summit, organized by the Global Ethnics Movement, is expected to draw participation from ethnic group executives, community leaders, policymakers, youth associations, cultural organizations, and political figures from across Oriade and beyond.
