Donvick Eclear, born Udeme Joseph Victor Ekpenyong on April 26, 1993, is a fast-rising Nigerian music artist known for his inspiring journey into the music industry. He hails from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and was born and raised in Uyo City, a place known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant artistic community.

Growing up in a humble family under the care of the Ekpenyong family, Donvick experienced the everyday realities of life in southern Nigeria. His upbringing instilled in him discipline, resilience, and a strong belief in destiny and hard work. Although music was not initially part of his life plan, the experiences he encountered along his life journey would eventually lead him to discover his true path.

Educational Journey

Donvick Eclear began his educational journey at Christ Ambassador Nursery School in Uyo, where he studied from 1996 to 1999. During these early years, he developed foundational learning skills and built the discipline that would later help shape his career.

He continued his primary education at St. Thomas Catholic Primary School, Afaha Atai Ibesikpo Asutan, Uyo, attending from 1999 to 2005. His time there helped him build friendships and gain exposure to diverse talents and interests.

For his secondary education, Donvick attended Methodist High Secondary School, where he studied from 2005 to 2011. During this period, he developed a strong sense of responsibility and began thinking seriously about his future career path.

Later, in pursuit of further academic development, he participated in borrowing courses at the University of Lagos in 2018 and the University of Ibadan in 2019. These educational experiences broadened his perspective on life and exposed him to new opportunities and ideas.

Life Before Music

Before discovering his passion for music, Donvick worked as a mobile crane operator, a demanding profession that required technical skill, focus, and physical endurance. Like many young Nigerians, he spent years chasing financial stability and career growth.

Interestingly, music and football—two of the most popular passions among Nigerian youth—were not initially among his interests. His life revolved around work and survival, with little thought given to pursuing a creative career.

However, life took a significant turn in 2024, when he lost his job as a crane operator. What seemed like a difficult setback would later become the turning point that led him toward his true calling.

Spiritual Awakening and the Birth of a Music Career

Following the loss of his job, Donvick began attending night prayers at churches, mosques, and prayer mountains with friends and community members. During this period of spiritual reflection, he began receiving messages that suggested he had not yet discovered his true life purpose.

At first, he struggled to believe these messages. However, the same message continued to appear repeatedly through different sources—four different churches, a grandmother figure, and a spiritual guide known as an Alpha. Each of them echoed the same idea: he had been focusing too much on chasing money without discovering his real life path.

This repeated spiritual confirmation made him reconsider his direction in life. Determined to test the message and see whether music could truly be his calling, he decided to give it a chance.

Discovering the Artist Within

In early 2025, Donvick officially activated what he describes as the “music spirit” within him and began seriously pursuing a music career. Through consistent practice, dedication, and belief in improvement, he started developing his artistic identity.

He strongly believes in the saying “practice makes perfect,” and this mindset pushed him to keep learning and improving his musical skills. As he continued working in the studio and refining his sound, even his producer and close associates began to recognize his natural talent.

At that point, he fully embraced his musical identity and added “Eclear” to his name, creating the stage name Donvick Eclear—a name that represents clarity, purpose, and a renewed sense of direction.

Music Career and Projects

Although still at the early stage of his career, Donvick Eclear has already begun building his catalog of music. Since starting professionally in 2024, he has recorded three strong tracks, which are currently being prepared as part of an Extended Play (EP) project set for promotion in the near future.

His music reflects his personal experiences, spiritual awakening, and determination to follow his true purpose. Through his songs, he aims to inspire listeners who may also be searching for direction in life.

Currently based in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Donvick continues to work on new music and collaborations while growing his presence in Nigeria’s vibrant music scene.
